<< Twitter and the Therapist  Improve Search Engine Ranking With Backlinks >>

I really hope that everyone reading this post is on page 1 of Google.

Somehow, I don’t believe that this is the case.

Anyone yes anyone can get on page 1 of Google.

All you need to do is to bid more than anyone else for a given search term lets say “Long Beach Psychotherapist” and the ad that you created for your services will appear on the right hand side of the organic results as a Google Adwords advertisement.

It couldn’t be easier.

The good side is that you only pay Google when someone clicks on your ad. The bad side might be that even though you are getting traffic to your site, those potential clients are not becoming paid clients and the cost of those clicks may be prohibitive.

So how do you get over this problem?

Many people make the mistake of  sending the clicks they get from Google Adwords to their home page which may not reflect the keyword phrase that the prospect typed into Google.

This is a massive mistake as you should be sending prospects to whats known as a “Landing Page” which reflects and expands on the keyword phrase that the prospect entered to get to your page.

The flow should be something like this:-

1.  Potential Client types in “Long Beach Psychotherapist” into their Google browser.

2.  The search results are displayed and on the right hand side the potential client sees your ad that says “Long Beach Therapist”

3.  They then click on your advert as it matches what they’re looking for.

4.  The page that they’re taken to might have a page heading that says “Long Beach Psychotherapist” and the rest of the information displayed on that page should expand on that phrase.

If you do this then your quality score with Google will be improved which will mean that you end up paying less for your clicks.

Now even though you got a potential client to come to your site, you have to give them a reason to engage with you.

Remember, people buy people so they’re looking to see what you’re like and what you can do to help them eradicate their issues and problems.

I’ll expand more on this in the next post.

Enjoy
