If you don’t then you are really limiting the number of people who will be able to find your new post.
It’s vital that you research your keywords so as to ensure that you will attract new visitors.
I actually did a video on this very subject that shows how to use the Google Keywords Tool.
The blog post and video is called Keyword finder how to video
The keywords tool shows you the number of people who are searching for a keyword both locally and globally.
i.e. at the time of writing (Sept 23rd 09) if you typed into the keywords tool the phrase Google Keywords Tool then you would see that there were 5,400 searches for this phrase in the month of August 09.
Having this kind of intelligence allows you to create a post around a phrase or topicĀ safe in the knowledge that people are searching for this type of information.
Other keywords that came up in the search for Google Keywords Tool were Google Adwords Keyword Tool, Google keyword suggestion tool and Google keyword tool search.
It’s also a good idea to sprinkle throughout your blog post the associated keywords that google will display along with your original search request.
You should also use these search terms in your tags fo your post.
If you take a look at the video I mention above, all will be revealed.
Just taking a little time to use this free tool can have a dramatic effect on the visibility of your blog post and the number of visitors you will subsequently get.
